About this role
This role owns frontend foundations used throughout Mercury's product: reusable components, patterns, tokens, typography, color, and layout. It pairs closely with design to turn new interaction patterns into production systems with a high bar for accessibility, performance, testing, and visual craft.
The engineer will also shape how Mercury's design system supports AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping. The work includes leading leveraged platform projects, improving tooling and CI practices, mentoring peers, and establishing practical patterns that help both people and agents build reliably.

What you’ll work on

- Advance an accessible, performant, well-tested design system that supports both traditional development and emerging AI-assisted workflows.
